Farewell Winter, Hello Spring!

Well, winter I think I can say has finally gone and now Spring is here. :) I am so excited for warm weather, lush green trees and flower draped fields. I have to say 2014 has already surprised me in so many ways. Some good some bad but the Lord hasn't failed to take care of me and my family. Three months into this year and I can't even count all the many blessings! <3
"Count your many blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done."
Our first snow day! Abel didn't believe me when I woke him up that morning. ;)
I absolutely love the view from our front door.
Abel was so excited to find this giant icicle!
Making snowballs!
Hiking through the woods with my brother, Abel.

The next Hunger Games movie!! lol :p

January 4th was Rachel's 23rd birthday! I tried making her a gluten-free and sugar-free cheesecake. Thankfully it turned out good even though it looks burnt in the picture. Haha!

Night! :)

The sunsets are AMAZING on the farm, especially this time of year!

the view from our back porch, this picture doesn't give this sunset justice it was so pretty. :)

January 29th was Chloe's 14th birthday! Had to take a selfie together! lol ;)

I made her a peanut butter cake!
Got to see where my grandfather went to church growing up, James Abernathy Sr. What a beautiful building.

A New Year and New Adventures. Welcome 2018!

So what's your new year's resolution? I was asked this a few times during the last few days of 2017. I'm such a list maker that normally in the past, I would have given some great answers. Haha! This past year though, I've realized I may make a long list of things I want to accomplish or finish this new year but that list is susceptible to change. This year I want to surrender all those plans to God first. I've made a decision, which putting a decision into action can take some work, but anyway, I've decided to take 2018 one day at a time. So cliche you may think but let me tell you, for a girl like me who plans every minute, to every hour, to every day, month, year, 5 years, IT IS SO not easy for me. You know, you think I would learn by now from growing up as a preacher's daughter, having moved about five different times to different states, churches, friends, ect. that I would realize it's just not possible to expect everything to go according as ...

Nothing Shall Take What Lives Within

My heart was really torn after what happened to the church in Sutherland Springs, Texas this past week. I just can not imagine going through something like that. Last Wednesday night, I was blessed to hear a comforting message from the pastor of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Elder Tim McCool. Speaking from Revelation 6:10-11, he reminded us that Our God is a Just God, Holy and True and even though man may take this outward body NOTHING can take away what's living within it. Praise God! I n relation to all of this, I was led to write a short poem. May it be, I hope and pray, a comfort to others. Fear, doubt, and trouble, come in as a warring thunder. Where is that silver lining, beyond these dark, thick, clouds asunder? We look to what surrounds us, what is amongst, finding no line of silver, a question unconquered. Is this a hidden treasure, we must seek to find? With a sigh, we find a hidden place and a book of Holy, by our side. In past, this book had served, to ...

Finding Gold

So recently I stumbled across an interesting blogger's post on 20 questions you could ask yourself and or an older sister in Christ to find treasures and spiritual inspiration. So being stumped on a topic, I decided to search out a Q&A and this one really stirred my thoughts. Also, sitting here on my couch because I'm suppose to rest after wisdom teeth extraction, is driving me a little nuts. Haha! I LOVE being active and it's only been a day after surgery and I'm already planning my get back in routine diet and workout plan. ;) Any who, let's jump in! I encourage you to ask some of these questions to yourself, friends, family members, church family, and anyone you're close to. Some are good ice breakers and I think important questions and topics to talk about. 1. What is your salvation story? Well if you're asking when I was saved, than you'll have to look back about 2,000 years ago, to Jesus taking my sins to the cross and dying there to s...
