Farewell Winter, Hello Spring!

Well, winter I think I can say has finally gone and now Spring is here. :) I am so excited for warm weather, lush green trees and flower draped fields. I have to say 2014 has already surprised me in so many ways. Some good some bad but the Lord hasn't failed to take care of me and my family. Three months into this year and I can't even count all the many blessings! <3
"Count your many blessings name them one by one and it will surprise you what the Lord has done."
Our first snow day! Abel didn't believe me when I woke him up that morning. ;)
I absolutely love the view from our front door.
Abel was so excited to find this giant icicle!
Making snowballs!
Hiking through the woods with my brother, Abel.

The next Hunger Games movie!! lol :p

January 4th was Rachel's 23rd birthday! I tried making her a gluten-free and sugar-free cheesecake. Thankfully it turned out good even though it looks burnt in the picture. Haha!

Night! :)

The sunsets are AMAZING on the farm, especially this time of year!

the view from our back porch, this picture doesn't give this sunset justice it was so pretty. :)

January 29th was Chloe's 14th birthday! Had to take a selfie together! lol ;)

I made her a peanut butter cake!
Got to see where my grandfather went to church growing up, James Abernathy Sr. What a beautiful building.

Remember Thanksgiving.

I love Fall.  The weather is just right,  the skies are bright blue,  and the leaves are all sorts of different colors! Thanksgiving is coming soon and I'm looking forward to it. I love the fact that its a day set aside to reflect on all the blessing we have in our lives! Sometimes its easy to forget all we have, especially when we get in the mind set that I won't be happy unless I have a new possession. These "things" will make you happy for a moment but they will eventually become old or out of style. We shouldn't look to material things to make us happy because they won't. We should be thankful for the things we already have. One thing we should be very thankful for is God's Word. His word is something we need to walk and live by everyday. Its a map to know what turns to take. The Bible sustains us, guides us, comforts us, strengthens us and so much more.  Joy and peace is there, waiting for us right on our book shelf. One of my favorite ...

Going Out West

I'm back! :) It has been such a long time since I've sat down and took some time to spend on my blog! Almost two years! Haha! With a list of excuses I could go through, I'll just cut to the chase and say I'm here and Lord willing, I hope to be posting more often. Going out west. Was SO amazing and a trip I'll never forget! Beginning in Las Vegas, Nevada and ending in Oceanside, California I was blessed to meet some of my sweet brothers and sisters in Christ along with experiencing new things. The best part of this trip was I didn't travel alone! I flew out with three preachers; my dad, Elder Sam Bryant, and Elder Craig Blair. It was awesome, I really enjoyed listening to their conversations and learning a thing or two. ;) You may be wondering why I flew with three preachers, well the whole reason this trip to Las Vegas came about was because of a dear sweet group of people. Which I can now happily call, the members of Las Vegas Primitiv...

Hallelujah: God Be Praised

“ I will run, I will run this race, And I will do it all for love, Your love compels me forward, Your love controls my heart, And I just cannot get away. So I will fight this good fight of faith, And I will do it all for love. You are my great reward, You're so worth fighting for And I can't wait to see Your face."  I recently stumbled across this sweet song and it really stirred my thoughts. I began to reflected on my life and how many times I have tired to run this race alone. Many times, when I become overwhelmingly busy with the task of life, I set aside precious time with my Heavenly Father, in order to complete them. In just a short amount of time, it becomes so easy to lose my sight on the reason I am here. Yes, it is important to take care of the task we have set before us in this life, we read in Gen. 12:5 that God put Adam in the garden of Eden "to dress it and keep it". We also read in Pro. 31:27 that the virtuous woman, "looke...
