A Young Woman After God's Own Heart by Elizabeth George

During the Summer I try to read more books, because first of all I have more time and second its good to workout your brain during the Summer, to keep it strong for school in the Fall. ;]
One book I've just started to read, again for the second time, is by Elizabeth George called A Young Woman After God's Own Heart. The first time I read this book I was about half way done with my Sophomore year in High School. However, because of school I didn't have the time to REALLY read and take it to heart, if you know what I mean. : p

Elizabeth George has written several other devotional and guide type books for young lady's,
such as: "A Woman's High Calling", "A Woman's Walk With God", and Beautiful in God's Eyes".
Elizabeth George is a popular teacher and speaker at Christian events. Her ministry experience includes, teaching high-school and college women, at churches and Christian college campuses.
Although Elizabeth George beliefs on the Scripture are a little bit different than mine, I have really enjoyed reading her book.

A Young Woman After God's Own Heart has really changed my views on a lot of things.
Such as my relationship with God, family, and friends, but it also has made me see a lot of areas in my life that I need to work on such as: my prayer life, bible studying, and trusting in the Lord's prefect timing.
So after much thought and prayer, I have decided to read this book again, take it to heart, and share my thoughts on it with you!  The posts I'm planing on doing will be my personal thoughts and stuff Elizabeth George mentions that inspires me and hopefully you.

Lastly, I want to say that I'm not doing this to tell other people how to live because I know everything.
BELIEVE me I don't, I am far from perfect. I am doing this mainly for me. To remind me of the important's of pleasing God in every area of my life. But also I'm doing this to hopefully spread God's word and maybe inspire someone else to live a life after God's Own Heart.

* The follow post I will be doing will mention things from the book: A Young Woman After God's Own Heart, as a disclaimer, I want to give all rights and thanks to Elizabeth George for her hard work and effort in searching the scriptures and taking the time to write such an inspirational  book for young christian woman.

Remember Thanksgiving.

I love Fall.  The weather is just right,  the skies are bright blue,  and the leaves are all sorts of different colors! Thanksgiving is coming soon and I'm looking forward to it. I love the fact that its a day set aside to reflect on all the blessing we have in our lives! Sometimes its easy to forget all we have, especially when we get in the mind set that I won't be happy unless I have a new possession. These "things" will make you happy for a moment but they will eventually become old or out of style. We shouldn't look to material things to make us happy because they won't. We should be thankful for the things we already have. One thing we should be very thankful for is God's Word. His word is something we need to walk and live by everyday. Its a map to know what turns to take. The Bible sustains us, guides us, comforts us, strengthens us and so much more.  Joy and peace is there, waiting for us right on our book shelf. One of my favorite ...

Nothing Shall Take What Lives Within

My heart was really torn after what happened to the church in Sutherland Springs, Texas this past week. I just can not imagine going through something like that. Last Wednesday night, I was blessed to hear a comforting message from the pastor of Bethlehem Primitive Baptist Church, Elder Tim McCool. Speaking from Revelation 6:10-11, he reminded us that Our God is a Just God, Holy and True and even though man may take this outward body NOTHING can take away what's living within it. Praise God! I n relation to all of this, I was led to write a short poem. May it be, I hope and pray, a comfort to others. Fear, doubt, and trouble, come in as a warring thunder. Where is that silver lining, beyond these dark, thick, clouds asunder? We look to what surrounds us, what is amongst, finding no line of silver, a question unconquered. Is this a hidden treasure, we must seek to find? With a sigh, we find a hidden place and a book of Holy, by our side. In past, this book had served, to ...

Finding Gold

So recently I stumbled across an interesting blogger's post on 20 questions you could ask yourself and or an older sister in Christ to find treasures and spiritual inspiration. So being stumped on a topic, I decided to search out a Q&A and this one really stirred my thoughts. Also, sitting here on my couch because I'm suppose to rest after wisdom teeth extraction, is driving me a little nuts. Haha! I LOVE being active and it's only been a day after surgery and I'm already planning my get back in routine diet and workout plan. ;) Any who, let's jump in! I encourage you to ask some of these questions to yourself, friends, family members, church family, and anyone you're close to. Some are good ice breakers and I think important questions and topics to talk about. 1. What is your salvation story? Well if you're asking when I was saved, than you'll have to look back about 2,000 years ago, to Jesus taking my sins to the cross and dying there to s...
